Black Watch to launch flagship at Sanctuary Cove
Black Watch Boats is preparing to launch its new flagship, the BW50,
in time for the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show this May. The BW50 Sportsfisher
will adhere to Black Watch's tried and trusted deep-vee hull design -
perfect for the offshore gamefisherman, says the company.
However, one change to the Black Watch flagship is its emphasis on luxury.
According to Black Watch managing director Graham McCloy, "The BW50
was designed for the export market, so to compete with some of the boats
on the world market today, we knew that it had to include all the fine
trimmings."
"This is our flagship as well our key to the international arena;
it will be very luxurious inside," McCloy said.
With a three bedroom, two bathroom layout, the BW50 will be equipped
with air-conditioning, a washer/dryer, a state-of-the-art entertainment
system, leather furnishings, and more - all included as standard.
Performance has not been compromised, says Black Watch, with Caterpillar
3406Es at 800hp each coming standard on the BW50. This should produce
speeds up to 35kt.
Black Watch marketing manager Stefan Giameos is certain that demand will
outstrip production during its initial launch onto the market. "This
is particularly the case due to the popularity of this type and size of
vessel in various international markets, such as the US. If you are interested
in the BW50, you will need to get in quick."
