  Tim Simpson - Editor/General Manager
Tim is a passionate angler, photographer and educator who is on a quest to deliver the secrets of the world's best gamefishing experts amongst a visually stunning feast of photography. For decades, Tim has helped anglers to learn and achieve their dreams through his regular lectures and presentations at major boat shows and club events. Prior his role developing BlueWater into an internationally-acclaimed leader in gamefishing magazines, Tim spent 25 years in a distinguished career at the cutting-edge of the Australian retail fishing tackle industry. He's also attained six IGFA World Records, numerous Australian records and a long list of tournament wins. Tim has been appointed adviser to several NSW Government Fisheries Ministers and has held positions on many club and association committees. Tim is also a leader in the promotion of sustainable Tag & Release as well as techniques for enhancing the survival of released fish. He has personally tagged and released over 500 gamefish.
       
  Dr Julian Pepperell - Marine Science Consultant and Columnist
Dr Julian Pepperell is a recognised world authority on billfish and other pelagic species and is especially well-known for developing the Australian gamefish tagging program. Julian formed his own research company in 1991 and conducts research in partnership with universities, government and the private sector. He is also an adjunct professor at several Australian universities. He provides a rare gift in his ability to bridge the gap between the scientific community and recreational anglers.
       
  Bill Boyce - Columnist
Bill Boyce spent 16 years as a US fisheries biologist, working for organisations such as the Tropical Tuna Commission at the Scripps Institute, and was even called on to advise the US Senate and Congress. After 12 years working with commercial tuna boats, Bill redirected his talents to a career in gamefishing photography.His underwater photo-graphy and filming is now world-renowned. Bill is also a very talented angler, rod craftsman and customiser of recreational fishing boats.
       
  Peter Saul - Columnist
Peter Saul is one of the best-known faces in NZ sportsfishing. He worked for the NZ Ministry of Fisheries and is now a co-director of Blue Water Marine Research, which conducts recreational fisheries-related research projects. Peter has owned and operated his own vessel, Lady Jess, since 1988 and was responsible for introducing the gamefish tagging program to New Zealand in 1975. More recently he has participated in the satellite tagging of marlin, swordfish and tuna.
       
  Dean Butler - Columnist
Dean Butler is a world-renowned angler, guide and outdoors writer/photographer. He carved a reputation as a pioneer in remote Australian and international angling loc-ations, and has led clients to over 40 saltwater fly-fishing World Records. Along the way he's developed equipment now considered standard around the globe. He divides his time between the NSW marlin fishing season, the Vanuatu blue marlin fishery and various guiding and photographic assignments.
       
  Elliott Stark - The Billfish Foundation (TBF) - Columnist
As science and policy specialist for The Billfish Foundation (TBF), Elliott Stark works on TBF's tag and release database and on fisheries policy issues from around the world. He also does angler and scientific outreach and writes for various media. Elliott is from Austin, Texas, has a Masters degree in Marine Policy and fishes every chance he gets - in the US Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico and Latin America to-date.
       
  Rob Kramer - International Game Fish Association (IGFA) - Columnist
Rob Kramer began his term as the IGFA's sixth president in October 2002. Before joining the IGFA he worked for Florida's Division of Marine Fisheries where he distributed fisheries research data to the fishing public and represented recreational fishermen on various regional and national fisheries management bodies. Rob is also the founder of Fish Florida, a non-profit organisation that provides fishing opportunities and conservation information to Florida's citizens.
       
  Craig Smith (Pirate) - Artist and Contributor
The pirate, aka Craig Smith, is an internationally recognised gamefishing artist and cameraman. He can be found lurking around gamefishing haunts across the Pacific, capturing inspiration for his paintings and cartoons. In many hotspots it's well-known that to be caught by the mischief-seeking Pirate is to be lampooned in future editions of BlueWater.
